We have been appointed by the Scottish Futures Trust to the Financial Advisory Framework which covers the provision advice to many public sector bodies in Scotland on projects to procure and deliver accommodation (including schools and healthcare) procured using Non Profit Distributing and Hub structures.

Highland Council
Summer 2011
We have completed a review of the school estate in Caithness on behalf of Highland Council and are progressing a review of schools in Easter Ross.

Summer 2011
Caledonian Economics have been appointed with our partners Castalia to OFGEM's framework for financial advisers.

World Bank
September 2010
Caledonian Economics spent time with various parts of the World Bank in Washington DC explaining the Scottish approach to revenue funding of social infrastructure projects.

Moray Council
Caledonian Economics were financial advisers to Moray Council on their
Building for Learning PPP Project which was signed in June 2010.

Scottish Water
Caledonian Economics were appointed as financial advisors to Scottish
Water on the procurement of their Solutions 2 Joint Venture Partnership.
This involved advising on the financial aspects of the procurement process;
the evaluation of bids and assisting with the commercial negotiations.
The contract was successfully signed, on time, in April 2010.

Achilles Utilities Vendor database to provide financial consultancy.

February 2010
Caledonian Economics has been appointed by the Western Isles Council
to advise on the reconfiguration of its school estate.

December 2009
Caledonian Economics and Castalia have been appointed to undertake a
cost benefit analysis of whether schools PPPs will provide value for
money as a procurement tool in New Zealand.

November 2009
Moray Council has selected its Preferred Partner for the redevelopment of Elgin
Academy and Keith Primary School.

Autumn 2009
We have been appointed to carry out a strategic review and
options appraisal for the Council's schools estate.

North Lanarkshire
August 2009
Caledonian Economics has been appointed as financial advisor
to North Lanarkshire Council to assist in the procurement of
their three Joint Venture Partnerships for housing services;
roads and street lighting and gas services. The project is due
to OJEU in Autumn 2009.

Aberdeen City Council – 3Rs Schools Refinancing
July 2009
Caledonian Economics advised the Council on the successful refinancing
of this project mid-construction following the collapse of its funder
Landsbanki. This has enabled the first six schools to open to timetable
including the impressive Cults and Bucksburn Academies which opened in
October 2009.

Sandy Rosie is joining Caledonian Economics as a Non-Executive Director

We are pleased to announce that Sandy Rosie is joining Caledonian Economics
as a Non-Executive Director. Sandy was previously Director of the Scottish
Government’s Private Finance Unit leading many procurement initiatives
including the £2bln Scottish Schools Programme, the development of the NPD
PPP model for schools and health and in the development of the Scottish
Future’s Trust.

Orkney Island Council and NHS Orkney
Autumn 2009
Caledonian Economics was appointed
as financial advisor to Orkney Island Council and NHS Orkney on the development of a Joint Venture Partnership to deliver
island infrastructure. This is a pathfinder JV project which will
make a significant difference to this island community.
